Utah Earthquake

Northern Utah was struck with a 5.0-magnitude earthquake Thursday night.  Rich County in Northern Utah was hit with a 5.0-magnitude earthquake that was felt from Logan down to Provo. There are several reports that people in Idaho and Wyoming also felt the Utah quake. Early reports initially reported the quake at a 4.9 in magnitude.

The earthquake hit just before 6 pm mountain time. No damages or injuries have been reported. TV stations have been flooded with calls about the quake. Many people have reported that the quake felt like it created more of a rolling feeling.

A 5.0-magnitude earthquake is considered moderate, but could cause structural damage to older houses, according to ABC 4.

Having the ground shake reminds many people of the devastating earthquakes that have occurred in Haiti, Chile, Mexico and China. Those earthquakes were above a 7.0 in magnitude.
